The Footwear Fairytale

Our Story

Once upon a time there was a fashionista. She loved sparkles and stilettos, Kelly bags and kitten heels. But as the months grew on, and she grew with, this mommy-to-be had to give up her style for sake of her feet. Her pedicure looked fresh, but her style took a dive. And now this fashionista was living in a fashion nightmare.

The Casa Couture brand was born out of the belief that women should never have to compromise their style for comfort, at any stage of life. What started out as a quest to address the needs of expecting moms with swelling feet has turned into a footwear revolution that has made Casa Couture a unique brand in it’s industry.

Founded in 2011, Casa Couture has been designing and selling functional and fashionable shoes that have been celebrated by WWD, The Bump, and ABC News. With various worldwide patents issued and pending, our foundation in science and fashion means women can conquer the duties of womanhood and still look fabulous.

Claudia Espinola

Our Founder

Claudia Espinola is the Founder and CEO of Casa Couture and oversees the company’s overall business, ranging from design to product development to merchandising and fulfillment. She is a self proclaimed “Shoepreneur” by uniquely combining her business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit and cobbling skills to successfully launch her shoe business.

Before developing the concept for Casa Couture, Claudia’s fabulous collection of sky-high pumps and stilettos had become personal statements; a bold banner of femininity and womanhood. However, Claudia discovered rather painfully that she was experiencing the consequences from her stunning heels. But she was not alone, like her best friend Kelly, who at 7 months pregnant, was reluctant to trade her high-heeled, high-fashion taste for a pair of unflattering clogs or flip-flops. No longer willing to accept that fashion is pain and that we must abandon our style because our life changes, Claudia’s quest began to find the ultimate designer shoes– shoes that were uptown sophisticated and well-made with also a feminine edge – shoes that provided real comfort while fitting seamlessly into her tailored wardrobe and city lifestyle. To Claudia’s surprise, this proved a difficult mission, as so-called comfort shoes with “invisible technology” and fancy padding didn’t live up to expectations (or were just plain unattractive). With this distinct point of view, Claudia left a successful career in marketing consulting and enrolled in an intensive footwear course in Milan where she eventually developed the innovative technology that is the basis of Casa Couture’s signature comfort construction.

In addition to growing the Casa Couture brand, Claudia is fiercely committed to her work as a philanthropist and advocate for women in her community, devoting much of her time supporting organizations that empower women and their families. Currently, she serves as a board member to various non-profits, with services ranging from providing affordable child care services for families to supporting poor women through education, training and loan programs.
